For three and a half thousand years, Deos has been searching desperately for a way to save the Old World. Ultimately, this search was in vain. He watched as the Eternals made another world, and watched as his slowly began to crumble. He had but one option...
Starting from the moment reed failed to corrupt the dragons, he has turned everything else against the draconic races. The population of the dragons would quickly dwindle, and the draconin would follow. However, with the dragons being the main target, more dragons died than draconin.
At this moment, there were but four dragons remaining. All of which were affiliated with each other. Tilliat, from one of the first generations of dragons, was ancient in every sense of the word, but he was still of great power, and held neigh infinite wisdom. Matrias, beloved to Tilliat, and holder of vast arcane power. She had been with Tilliat for many millennia. Belon, a young male of only five hundred years had survived the horrors of the old world up to this point with his beloved, Arotha.
The dragons were still sinless, and could still speak directly with Deos. And vice versa. Deos would instruct the dragons to gather as many still good people as they could. While no one was sinless anymore, the corruption given by the Eternals varied wildly. While many were immoral, soulless shells of what they were meant to be, there were still some that still had good within them, still knew Deos, and knew right from wrong, even if they still give in to temptation sometimes.
The dragons were instructed to gather these few good people. They would receive the rest of their instruction once they have done so. There was no hesitation. They gathered what little good was left in an evil world into one spot. In all, there was a quarter million per race. Deos once again came to them. He told them that there was another world waiting for them in the next realm. Their own was ready to crumble at any moment, and was not worth saving.
He instructed the dragons to pool their arcane might, and to create a portal from thedying Old World, to the new. The dragons did so. Once the portal was complete, it was time to get the people through. The dragons' love for the draconin made it so they would be the first on the New World, and away from the danger. However, they refused to set foot on a world where the dragons were not there first. Only when Tilliat, Matrias and Belon had flown through the portal did the draconin follow. Arotha would stay behind to ensure the exodus would go according to plan. It did not.
Armies of the corrupt peoples charged over the horizon very shortly after the dragons stepped through. The only two capable of fighting, or aware that fighting was needed were Arotha herself, and a draconin warrior who called himself Horoth. They would rise to fight the armies of sin, and protect the refugees. They lasted long enough so the refugees all made it through the portal, and could close it. Neither of them would live to see the new world.
