Grom the Barbarian

Grom the Barbarian on D&D Beyond: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/124849325
Grom’s early life was marked by hardship and resilience, born to a nomadic orc tribe and a human wanderer. His mixed heritage made him an outsider in both worlds, but it was among the gnomish fishing community that he found acceptance and purpose. Orphaned at a young age, Grom was taken in by a kindly gnome fisherman named Brindle, who taught him the ways of the sea. Despite his formidable size and strength, Grom was gentle and hardworking, spending years mastering the art of fishing and boat maintenance. The sea became his second home, its rhythmic waves a soothing contrast to the chaos of his early years. He grew to appreciate the gnomish ingenuity and the tight-knit bond shared by the crew, finding solace in their simple, yet adventurous life.   However, as time passed, Grom’s restless spirit began to yearn for something more than the predictability of the open waters. Stories of legendary heroes and epic quests that Brindle often recounted during long nights at sea ignited a spark within him. When a brutal storm destroyed their boat and claimed the lives of many crew members, including Brindle, Grom saw it as a sign to seek a new path. With a heavy heart but a fierce determination, he left the remnants of his past behind, venturing into the world as a barbarian adventurer. Embracing his heritage, Grom channeled his grief and strength into protecting others and facing challenges head-on, driven by a desire to honor Brindle’s memory and discover his true destiny beyond the horizon.
