I knew it was a family affair before I set foot on the vineyard, the place is literally called Two Sisters Vineyards after all, but the genuine welcome I received from Tamara and her family really put on display that wine country hospitality I've heard rumors about. They even broke out a couple bottles from their private store for me. I don't know if they were compis or not, but I was forgetting the awful train ride by the bottom of the third glass!— An Escasceana's Journey Through the Compis Arts, page 72
An Escasceana's Journey Through the Compis Arts is the published journal of culinary expert
Thea Yalding as she traveled Leland exploring the differences in
compis culinary techniques among different cultures. The content is a mix of technique descriptions and Yalding's own personal experiences and discoveries during her adventures.
During her travels, Yalding spent time in every province, beginning in
Vinato and following the path of the
Pan-Lelandic Channel Train System wherever it would take her. Among her adventures were sampling shotesi buns during
Eiwaso Kyoku in
Reisouth, learning about compis wine fermentation in
Cesland wine country, trying (unsuccessfully) to wrench compis secrets from the tight-lipped
compisceanes of the
Forgotten Isle, and, perhaps most importantly, sharing a miner's energizing biscuit with the love of her life in the mountains of
Domthe.
Yalding would go on to join the faculty of
Ambrosie Boisvert College of the Culinary Arts following the publishing of her journal where she draws on her experiences to create a culinary fusion of compis effects.
