Early Life
Glacuio Myren was born in 530 as the third of four children to Lady Vanda Myren of House Myren, the ruling Golden Noble House of Brento during that time period. He lived the typical life of golden nobility until he manifested Power of Light at age six instead of Power of Persuasion. Two years later Glaucio presented with Power of Melody as well. Despite Melody being his weaker enmanity, Glaucio's mother insisted he be trained as an melodere since Melody was considered to be closer to Persuasion in the unspoken hierarchy of enmanities. He wasn't forbidden from practicing Light, but it was strongly discouraged as evidenced by his lack of tutoring. During a local festival in 546, a color puppetry troupe was performing in the city square, as was a common occurrence in northern Leland. Glaucio, who had been struggling to maintain the image expected of him as a member of the ruling House as he grew older, found his curiosity insatiable and snuck behind stage to observe the techniques of the illuminates first hand. He was discovered by a young man barely older than himself who invited him to return later in the evening and showed him a few of the most basic techniques--the ones taught to children. It was in that moment that Glaucio finally felt like he had found himself, and he didn't want to let that go. So when the troupe left town following the festival, Glaucio went with them. The Rise of Glaucio Aslopa
Though he had a lot to learn regarding the practice of Light, that was the least of Glaucio's problems after leaving home. He carried the name of House Myren, but even changing his name wouldn't change the fact that his enmantic tattoo was etched into his skin with gold ink--a sign of his status--and he legally could do nothing to change that. Glaucio did everything in his power to naturally obscure his tattoo, primarily growing his beard out and letting his hair become long and unkempt, both in ways that would be unbecoming of a member of the golden nobility. He took on the last name Aslopa, meaning 'haunting light' in Old Kilthian The young man who had first shown him the techniques the night of the festival, Pere, became Glaucio's teacher and was responsible for teaching him both Light techniques and the way things worked in the troupe. The two spent much time together and eventually fell for one another. They were married in 551. With Pere's guidance, Glaucio was able to play a supporting role in the traditional color puppetry performances, but where he really shined was bringing Melody into the mix. The rigorous training of his weaker enmanity allowed him to perform extraordinarily well and he began tying what he knew to what he had been learning. He began to be included in the lineup of performers who would do individual demonstrations prior the show. In 558 he performed on stage using the technique he called the 'rainbow harp" for the first time, something that would boost his own reputation and that of the troupe's as well. The rainbow harp had taken many years of practice to develop. Glaucio's natural talent for color manipulation allowed him to easily filter the light flowing between his fingers into different individual colors. With focus he was able to keep the color bands from scattering and formed short 'strings' of colored light. It had reminded him of his days being forced to practice harp ad nauseum and he idly pretended to pluck the light strings, eventually adding in a whistled tone as he did. Pere suggested he refine the technique for performance and eventually he began weaving Power of Melody through his whistling.Unwelcome Homecoming
In 563, the troupe returned to Glaucio's hometown for the first time in seventeen years. Because of the reputation the troupe had developed since their last visit, the performers were summoned for a private performance for the ruling family--Glaucio's family. For his part, he performed one of the songs he had been forced to practice over and over again in his youth. It must have resonated with his mother because she Commanded him to identify himself. The family was understandably shocked, but his mother wasted no time scolding him for his embarrassing behavior and banished him from Brento, declaring him to be no son of hers. It wasn't like Glaucio had been expecting a warm welcome, or had even wanted to announce himself to his family, but the incident merely reinforced his feeling that running away from home had been the best decision of his life.Life of the Rainbow Harpist
Though rumors of his true identity and banishment followed where he went from then on, Glaucio ignored them. He continued to perform with the troupe until 577 when he and Pere decided to settle in Glaso on Colimore Gulf. While there he commissioned a special metal frame to fit his hands and create the appearance of a physical harp when he performed--something that would come to be a recognizable tool to those who knew of the technique. He continued to perform as the Rainbow Harpist along the southern coast of the gulf until his accidental death in 588. His harp frame remains on display at the concert hall where he performed in residency in his later years.Sexuality

Nice article! what a terrible family he had :( It's good that he still found happiness away from them and didn't care about them! That banishment was ironically useless... Still, did that affect the way other people treated him when they learned of his identity and banishment? Or was he already too famous for it to matter? I4m also curious about how Glaucio's family reacted at his sudden disappearance. Did they not try to find him? There was no sign that he thinking about running away, right? So would they not think he was kidnapped?
