After infecting themselves with the virus, they made their way to Harmonil, infecting many innocents along the way. Authorities became aware of the plot and quarantined the royal family, rendering the plan a failure. Instead, it brought about an epidemic that stymied advancement in enmantic studies for a generation and would lead to an increasingly paranoid monarchy.

Passing of the Hawthorne Act
Political eventThe Hawthorne Act (also referred to as the "Hold Your Tongue" Act) was created to stem fears of the return of a powerful Golden Tongue who might try to reinstate royal leadership. Among other things, it placed harsh restrictions on the use of Persuasion and required reports of all crimes involving the ability to be submitted to Deamei for tracking purposes.
