The broken family statue of the darringtons

This is a statue in the middle of Thornsglinn. It was made as a commition at least a 100 years ago. It is made to resemble the then leading family of thornsglinn King Darrington and his family. The statue is made out of a fine graphite.   It is a symbol of the respect the city had for the Darringtons. The statue was not commitioned by the king or any of the family. The city back then did that on their own as a token of gratitude to them. The king liked the statue so much he made it the centre piece of the city. He had no intentions of making a statement about it of his power or prestige. However it was known as the heart of the people. The king admired what people could do when they banded together. He was a collecter from fine art to the fish.   The statue however was destroyed during thornsglinn's revolution of chaos. Aside from what was previously thought about the statue. Rumours were spread that the statue was not what they thought it was a symbol of power and oppression accourding to them. Even though people didn't know what the kings true intentions were after that day. Some of them believed and others believed the kings rightoness. Even though the son was then on the throne.

Purpose / Function

For most it serves as a reminder though what they are reminded of is very different. A large sum of people are remembered by the cities previous rulers and what the city was like under their rule. An almost equal sum will remember the tragedy of the revolution that ended that rule. A small portion of the people are grateful that it happened with how they are now the ones that either lead or have done better because of the tragedy.
