Fragment-Gods

The Gods of Levantis are the most powerful beings known to the mortal races. The First Five are the ones who created the world of Levantis, instructed by the Shattered God. They also created the Twelve Progenitors, their children gods who preside over certain domains and helped create many of the mortal races.   While they preside over domains that are recognizable to mortals, their way of thinking is quite far off from what mortals think it to be. It is logical for mortals to humanize them, but the fact is that Gods are alien in mindset and more driven by curiosity and the desire to embody their domain than any form of kindness, empathy or malice. They answer prayers with some regularity, but not with a pattern, simply pushing a little here or there to observe the effects or to reward those who they think embody their domain or dogma. In the past their wanton interference led to innumerable disasters, and ever since they have bound each other in something they call the Covenant, which limits the magnitude in which their actions may affect events. This is not known among mortals however, which is why there are still people wondering why the Gods do not interfere more than they already do.
