Satyr fur care

Bathing

While any water will do, satyr of most cities within Parnathum enjoy using the large public baths that centre most major cities. Usually heated, often from subsurface hot springs, satyr enjoy the public nature of the bathing ritual, often mixing it with platonic touch or group massages.

Combing

Employing nymph attendants, or the intimate act of loved ones; the next step in satyr fur care is the combing of knots. These are generally formed from bone or wood from date trees they grow. Due to the coarse nature of their leg fur and the naturally oily texture, this is done with a fine toothed comb, delicately and with the line of the leg.

Moisturising

The next step in the process is rubbing in a mixture synthesised with animal lard, spices and river mud. While this may look like it is dirtying the fur, the mixture is designed to be rubbed in, dried, and then flaked off away from the fur.

Decoration and customs.

Special dusts and powders exist to stain the fur, especially around the harvest celebrations where satyrs tell stories about the thinning of the veil between worlds and some of the stranger things that have come over. Ribbon 'socks' and 'stockings' are also used around these forms of celebrations.
