Liadra World of Opportunity

Imagine a world if you will that is almost entirely brand new. Well, newish, given about 3000 years or so, but in the grand scheme of how worlds go, this is much newer than some. Ok, technically, its older, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We will get to that in good time. Imagine a world where things are new, the nations and people who you see all settled here from somewhere else. Not another country or a journey across The Crystal Sea, but from other worlds.   That’s right. “There are other worlds than these.” If you don’t mind me quoting Jake Chambers from Stephen King’s series, The Dark Tower. You’re reading about the world of Liadra. Where the entire world can be summed up in one world: Opportunity. The people, the culture, nations, even the Gods themselves all see this place as one big chance for something great. What that chance is though, is up to the person. A chance for greatness? A chance for a better life? Maybe a chance to understand their own destiny. Or maybe just a chance they’ll finally shake off who has been hunting them all this time. Unlike other worlds, Liadrans understand their origins, because almost all of them can trace their origins to another world. The northern continent of Liluria, was settled first, and that’s where we will be focusing on. The region is fairly cozy, quite a few nations living next to each other, each one fairly unique in its people, culture, style of government, and motivations. Some of them even have the very Gods and Goddesses still walking the earth! Not very often, mind you. They don’t like to draw too much attention, unless of course, when they need to.   For the most part, the people of Liluria are used to all sorts of people coming and going. Mostly because interplanar travel still happens. Not as regular when the place was first settled, but often enough that the more common portals are guarded, and patrolled. There is a lot of people and things who would like to plunder the riches of this place, as the Lilurians learned all too well a few centuries back, and they are determined to not let it happen again, that’s one thing they can agree on.   What riches do you ask? This world was built upon the ashes of another, and that world still has debris some would like to sift through, objects of power beyond imagining. The type that caused the destruction of their world in the first place. Figured that would get some of you people’s attention. All in good time. Let’s set the scene first before we get to the good stuff.   Feledorn Spellshrike High Arcanist, Hand of Nadar
