Shadowsteel

Shadowsteel is a dark combination of metallurgy and insidious sorcery. It is especially effective as a conduit for enchantments, curses and spells. Crafting it is an expensive and laborious process, and while possible to use the finest of refined iron, the failure rate in creation sky rockets and efficacy often drops, so it usually uses mithral or similar metals for its base.
