Tarunan Age of Majority Celebration

In the morning, the ten of you shall leave Dehlet. Some of you may return. Others may take your place. Still more of you will never come back. Tonight, we wish you safe journey, glad hearts, and somber memories. May your memory outlive your journey!

The Tarunan, unlike many other peoples of the Mizar System, believe that the young are as powerful and wise as the elderly. As such, on the Eve of the Auroras, all Tarunan five cycles of age are gathered in the village center. From here, they are gifted tools and equipment to begin their life quest, as well as thrown a feast and prayed over by family and friends.

A Tradition of Self Discovery

The Tale of Ga Ne'esh is taught to the youngest of the Tarunan. In it, the hero Arash the Silver is on a journey to find the source of his immense strength and knowledge. Along the way, Arash is beset by challenge after challenge, at each one he is offered help by a Chooha. To Arash, the help seems inexplicably small or unhelpful, such as a thread to scale a cliff or a single flower petal to cross a river. After days of attempting to reach his goal, Arash finds himself having barely left his village. Distraught, he finds himself in tears. The chooha then offers itself to the hero to wipe away his tears. Taking the soft creature with a word of thanks, the beast suddenly grows, becoming Bojh, the giant mount of the god Ga Ne'esh. A shining aurora falls around the two and Bojh takes Arash to the place where his powers come from: the Temple of Ga Ne'esh.

A Modern Trek

In modern times, the young await the aurora for their chance to learn about themselves and be challenged on their life's journey.

Really interesting. What's the goal of the journey? Do they make their way to other places or do they come back after completing some task?
