The Trailblazers

The Trailblazers are the navigators of the Hollow Wood. They are based out of Timberholm, but can be found at the few other towns at the outskirts of this forest. A Trailblazer serves not just as a guide through the treacherous woods but also as a protector of the woods and it's few inhabitants. By leading people away from and around Prometheum, Trailblazers ensure the only ones who enter are trustworthy and have good intentions, else they get lost in the woods.
Trailblazers are often druids or rangers, though not all. To become a trailblazer, you must be a prominent and dependable part of Prometheum's community. Trailblazers must be nominated during a community meeting, and can not nominate themselves. If they accept, they must work alongside and get approval from each current trailblazer before any further training. This process is often informal and casual, as current Trailblazers often are the ones who nominate prospective Trailblazers and are thus overall familiar with them already.
Training Trailblazers learn the woods extensively, studying the wildlife and the magic's tendencies and haphazard patterns.
Trailblazers, when acting as guides, will endeavor to learn more about who they're guiding and their purpose for traveling into these enchanted woods. If they find the person worthy of what they seek, they will do their best to lead them to it. However, if they find the person unworthy of or not ready for what they seek, they will instead guide them towards a truth or lesson they need to learn before leading them out of the woods or purposefully outpacing them until they are left alone to find their way themselves.
