Frozen Sick, Chapter 1-3

General Summary

Chapter 1: The Frigid Woe

Somewhere, in another reality, a party of intrepid adventurers formed in a place called Palebank Village. The half-human, half-orc, half-brothers Bhaciar and Raicahb, the Drow ranger Kiruk, and the Human barbarian Charlene went on a quest for the town’s leader, Elro Aldataur. Their mission was to determine the root of the disease that had killed one of the town’s residents, a shopkeeper named Urgon Wenth, and infected another woman named Tulgi.   After some tracking they found Tulgi and learned that she had contracted Frigid Woe when she robbed Urgon's adventuring finds from the store he had just sold them to. The group went to the store, Pelc's Curiosities, to learn more. They found the store owner dead from Frigid Woe. Then they noticed the store was being robbed again.   The party interrogated the robbers which led them to a cave. Inside the cave they eventually found Tulgi’s sister - Hulil. Hulil was also dying of the Frigid Woe but, unable to bear the thought of someone else enduring such a fate, she warned the adventurers of the chest trap she had rigged with a vial of the Frigid Woe. Nonetheless, Charlene was touched by the vial’s substance and contracted the disease. Inside the chest, the intrepid adventures found a reciept of sale for another vial. It was sold to and Irven Liel.   The adventurers rushed to Irven at the Jolly Dwarf Inn. Irven traveled with his husband Fenton and their adopted Tiefling daughters Honor and Magic. They sold books. The party told him of the vials true nature, and he was horrified. His whole family touched the vial. He handed it over wrapped in cloth.   With the disease spreading rapidly, the party reported back to Erlo Aldataur. With so many potential cases he worried, and asked the party to stay put until he could figure out a solution. The next morning he had come up with a not so simple solution. The adventurers would have to travel on a perilous quest for 100 of miles to reach the only place that might have a hope of curing the Frigid Woe. They had no choice.

Chapter 2: The Shark

The journey was brutal. The adventurers went on a nine day boat journey, that became even longer after a massive shark destroyed their ship. After that they rowed to Syrinlya - finding several magical items on the way.   Upon arriving in Syrinlya, they were given accommodation, a horse, supplies, and heard of Salsvault, an ancient abandoned lab, and the source of the Frigid Woe. Unfortunately, it was 200 miles northwest through a dangerous and icy area known as Thin Sheets.

Chapter 3: Thin Ice

As Bhaciar, Raicahb, Charlene, and Kiruk traveled on horse through the Thin Sheets they were attacked by a swarm of monsters that emerged from beneath the ice. The Paladin brothers fought back and beat the monsters, but Kiruk was pulled underneath in the final moments, and couldn't be recovered.   Without a tracker, Charlene and the twins were lost in snowstorms for several days. Charlene's condition worsened. The trio, cold and dying, eventually found The Vault. They struggled and failed to open the door. They were doomed.. until they saw a bright white light and three strangers (a shirtless male Half-Orc, a female Eladrin, and a male High Elf) appeared in front of them.
