Safe From the Storm
During the
Time of Darkness, all of
Breharan was buffeted by frequent storms which drowned crops, darkened the skies, caused mudslides, and more. Only a few places were unaffected by the storms - not directly affected anyways - one of them was Highpeak's Vale.
During this time some species of
Breharan only survived into the
Time of Rebuilding because they found haven within the Vale.
Life in the Vale
There was once a large population of large wildlife including
deer and
horned bears. The establishment of
Astendoun changed this as the people killed the wildlife in order to protect their crops and their lives.
While the mountainous terrain around the region was not initially very good for growing crops, the
aven population built terraces to hold soil and water so that they could turn otherwise inhospitable terrain into food.

Atop the Spine
Highpeak's Vale is located within
Breharan's Spine and is a part of the region of
Zinato. The Vale starts at the bottom of the valley and goes up to the tops of the mountains.
