Hoarders of Incredible Technology
The Machine Priests are the creators of the floatdrive which allows skyships to float and allowed the Time of Exploration to begin. More than this they are the creators of many other advanced technologies that they refuse to share with anyone else. Not much is known about the technologies that they have for they do not let anyone else acquire their knowledge. The Machine Priests do not even let other groups repair the floatdrives they sell to the nations and, if they suspect someone has, they will be dispatched in full force to terminate all individuals involved and retake the drive. Given how they guard their machinery it is no surprise that the most well-known technology they possess is that which enhances their combat prowess. Giant suits of iron and bronze that make people stand much taller than they are and carry large packs on their backs which enable their firearms to achieve unbelievable firerates compared to the blackpowder weapons everyone else has. It is also rumored that their fists can punch through walls of solid stone.The Oldest Organization
Long before the Time of Rebuilding and perhaps even before the Time of Darkness, the Machine Priests were collecting knowledge. They have existed longer than any other organization on Breharan and are the only one to have survived the horrors and dangerous conditions of the Time of Darkness. They almost certainly possess knowledge from before the storms engulfed Breharan - the time of that event is unknown but they receded again almost four centuries before the present - but refuse to share any such documents.Stub Article

Located near Breharan the Bronze Fortress was accessible only by ketzlat until the creation of skyships. This small island has been completely transformed into a fortress - and has long been that way. Even an entire armada of heavily-armed skyships would not dare assault the fortress. The rumor is that the Machine Priests have built a long-range cannon that is so accurate it cannot miss.Outposts
While other nations have founded towns on other islands to increase their influence, the Machine Priests create little outposts within the cities of their allies. They never interfere in internal affairs but remain to undertake their trade for the resources they require in exchange for floatdrives and little else. They also operate an outpost at the edge of navigatable sky in a small place called Line's Edge. From here they inspect skyships that are about to head beyond the limit of navigation.
