Shavat Tur
"This is a moment in which I am honoured moreso than any other in my life. I am the first outsider allowed into Shavat Tur, the sacred home of the lizardfolk. The valley has a river that runs from the mountain feeding the valley with life. Trees, plants, birds, like I have never known. Some birds there stand taller than me. Trees grow to heights unseen in my home. I think it would take the whole crew to surround one of these trees! Mosses and lichen in greens, reds, and violet cover trees and rocks. When it came time to eat I got laughed at for eating 'prey' food. Lizardfolk eat only meat and prefer it raw. A lizardfolk laugh is very deep. I would have though a beast was going to pounce me in the forest if I did not know better." -Excerpt from Darosi's journal No. 1
Geography
Shavat Tur is surrounded on three sides by mountains. A river runs through the valley dividing it in two. The valley opens up into a grassland before the edge of the island.
Fauna & Flora
Life here is found in all sizes, even extremely large. Birds that walk and stand two meters tall. Trees large enough to build entire boats. Even a lizardfolk has creatures to fear in this valley. Large mammals are brave enough to attack small groups of hunters.
The plants of the jungle quickly grow to fill available space after a fire or people clear the land. Maintaining farmland would be difficult.
The small creatures and plants can also be deadly. They can be deadly if eaten, some even if touched. Others even carry disease.
Natural Resources
Wood, fruit, and meat are all abundant here. Metals could likely be found in the mountains but the lizardfolk believe the mountains sacred and will not let them be excavated.
