Tharadoor Merchant House

Burgeoning merchant's association in Burim.

"I hear that Tharadoor covers a portion of all losses incurred on deals but that they pay out the compensation in product. My acquaintance in the house also told me that often it is product that is in low demand or that is subpar. I would stay far away from the Tharadoor merchants if that is the case."
A Young Organization

The Tharadoor Merchant House is the smallest in the long city. Having only been founded in the autumn of 62 EX, it is still very new and is comprised mainly of inexperienced merchants. The existence of this house is a boon to aspiring merchants as the entry requirements are lax compared to the more established trading houses. This also proved effective in quickly growing the ranks of the house and in recent seasons, there have been rumors of increasing the entry barrier for new merchants.   Earlan Tharadoor, the original founder of Thardoor Merchant House, still leads the organization. He has guaranteed to his merchants that they will receive full reimbursement for any losses incurred by freak accidents caused by weather, animals, and other such phenomena. In addition, the house will cover one-tenth of any loss incurred in a transaction by its members. This is unusual for any organization, most leave the folly of their members as the problem of those members. However, this loss coverage is never paid out in coinage, rather always in product. This has spawned rumors of dealing in low-grade product and forcing members to accept payouts in items that are difficult to sell.
