The Adventurer's Trail

Can you see the Harani's trail?

You can still see the sight,
of that springtime flight,
of her wake in the light and the clouds.
If the wind turns right,
if you hear their plight,
you can see to where she flew.
The Adventurer's Trail

Where is She Now?

Perhaps the greatest question ever asked - according to the people of Darapur - is 'Where did the Harani go?' or perhaps 'What happened to her crew?' Either way, people have wondered for decades what had become of the first skyship.   Some years after her disappearance a saying started that if you watch the skyport from which the Harani took flight on the same day of the year that she left for her final voyage, you will see her trail through the sky. Either as a trail through the clouds or a glittering trail floating off into the distance.

Cloud Shapes

The myth of the Adventurer's Trail is discounted by critics by saying that seeing the trail through the clouds is no different than seeing a cloud that looks like a flower - it may seem to be a flower to one but perhaps look like an animal to another. In other words, people are simply seeing what they want to see.   Believers counter skeptics by noting that there has never been bad weather on the day of the year that the Harani began her final voyage. It must be a sign.
