When we first saw these shattered isles we were exstatic for we would be able to return triumphant that we discovered a place so far from Breharan. That all changed when we lost Jorn to a poisonous plant. It wasn't another cycle before Ralba went missing and a menacing buzz filled the air. Land of Little Rocks
The Shattered Isles are composed of many small skyislands. Some are the size of towns, many are only about the size of a skyship, and the tiny rocks the size of a fist are too numerous to count. All these islands in such close proximity to each other make it very difficult to navigate with a
skyship for if it passes over or under a single one, it will be on a one-way plummet through the
Floor and into the
Void.
The small islands of the Isles are confounding to scholars - based on the few reports they have - because they didn't expect anything to live on rocks so small. Most small islands just become barren but in the Shattered Isles mosses and lichens cling to every surface, mushrooms grow out of tiny crevices, and
skyweed several tims the height of a person dangles from the bottom. All these plants support an ecosystem of insects and birds, as well as something unknown - something that probably ate a member of the
Barle's crew.
Spreading Stones
The Shattered Isles move more than most islands do, still slowly but fast enough to see with the eye - though perhaps because there are so many so close together that it is just more obvious to the naked eye. It is believed that the Shattered Isles are actually moving through the
skies. The full extent of the region's size is unknown but as more expeditions go there, it will take up more and more space on the map.

The Barle
The sixth
skyship ever constructed was the
Barle. She was designed to ferry people between the skyislands but just once was she given a mission of exploration. Her extra size lent her well to carrying additional provisions to send a crew as far as possible.
Her mission almost ended in failure but just as the crew was considering turning around, they saw the edge of the Shattered Isles. They began their exploration of the region and gathered what food they could. When they eventually turned back to return to
Breharan they were still light on supplies - based on a full crew which they no longer had.
