Ĉasisto

pronounced Cha-sis-toe

As the sun slowly set the crowd gathered before city hall to hear the speech of Mayor Feldwin and the sea of people before the stage writhed like ocean waves as more people gathered around to observe. The mayor was not well-liked, angry murmurs and shouts of dissent could be heard echoing through the crowd of voices yelling up to the podium. Taxes had become outlandish in our town, the townsfolk barely managed to scrounge by day-to-day however our leader opulence as he approached the town center a brand new carriage pulled by a team of four expensive stallions, gave a hint of where our precious taxes wound up. Out stepped Mayor Feldwin, a salty hair gentleman in his late fifties standing roughly six feet tall and lanky, dressed in a suit that cost more than your average miners' yearly wages. The clack of his ivory cane followed him to the stage along with his personal security guards and their gang of enforcers.   Tonight, however, it seems our Mayor had a new guard at his side. A tall long-haired man, extremely built and I could swear near every inch of his body bared scars, over his shoulder he cared a large brutal-looking greatsword with a dragonhead on the pommel. He followed the Feldwin up to the podium and stood beside him as he started his speech. He went on about how lazy this town was and they would have to work hard and put in more hours or he would be forced to raise taxes again. It continued on with veiled and perceived threat in an attempt to cow the town as they scream and hurled insults his way. As the crowd began to get more riled up, the gang of enforcers was unleashed, beating and subduing anyone who attempted to approach. The newcomer on stage unsheathed his great weapon glare down at the crowd. The mayor could hear yelling at the man to make an example of this town and show them who is boss. I don't think our Mayor expected the reaction he got and he found him suddenly impaled to hilt on the large man's sword. The crowd screamed and many beginning to flee as they watch the Mayor run through, the last words I heard before the screams drowned out the voices was the man exclaiming, "The duke has sent me to collect his due."
