Aether Flare

Aether Flares come into existence when an overabundance of Aether gather along Minor Aether Lines. This phenomenon currently has no definitive explanation but Arcanists have summarized this may occur when a minor Aether line begins to absorb more than one elemental trait, causing great stress and the eventual destruction of the line which expresses itself in a violent eruption of Aether energy. The severity of these flares ranged from small localized explosions to ones large enough to devastate a mile radius from its center. Aether Flares while dangerous, are also extremely rare. Flares large enough to pose a significant danger to large area happen at most once or twice a year.
