Debt Collectors

The Debt Collectors are a group of warlocks chained to nature spirits that seek to help others in the world, thereby collecting a figurative "debt" owed to the warlocks. This spiritual energy then passes to the warlocks' patron spirit. For the debt collectors, it isn't the act of goodness that gives them the energy their patrons seek; it is the favor now owed to them by the people they help which sustains the spirits. While acts of kindness are the most common aid provided, simply because it is the most straightforward, nothing stops debt collectors from aiding villains and criminals and harvesting favors from them. 
Straightforward financial debt has also been taken on by the debt collectors loaning money to those in dire financial straitsm though over time the collectors have loaned out more and more to those less in need, starting to become a proxy bank. On occasion they have even financed larger public works or taken on citadel debt directly. However, experts on spirits have noticed that the debt collectors must maintain positive debt flow, so are these debts and favors ever being paid back? If not...where are the debt collectors getting the money to loan out in the first place? Calls are going out to investigate the Debt Collector organization, though the public eye still views them very favorably and is resistant to any suggestion of wrongdoing.
Debt collectors typically work alone, taking orders from their patrons through familiars traveling between the mortal and spirit realms. Familiars return to the spirit realm with bags of what look like tiny glass beads, the coalesed spiritual energy of the debts given physical form. With practice, mages can harness the beads themselves to power their spells, though the energy harnessable from the beads this way is only a fraction of what a mage can ambiently pull from the world on a given day, so they are not often sought after.
Debt collectors try to solve problems however they can, often utilizing the magic provided by their patrons to fix problems no normal human could solve. Some have worked to build a well-known reputation, so that those in need come to them instead of requiring being tracked down.
