Radiant Steel
Radiant steel is a particular steel allow of iron and diamond dust that must be extremely pure before being taken to the spirit realm and enchanted with undead-repelling positive energy. If the metal isn't pure enough, the enchantment will cause hairline fractures to spread through the metal and become prone to explosive fragmentation.
Radiant steel is expensive to produce but is used in a variety of technologies, such as anti-undead swords and bullets, but most importantly radiant steel is used in massive quantities to form the undead-repelling walls of most citadels.
Manufacturing
Radiant steel typically goes through at least 4 smelting stages to get out even the smallest of impurities. After that, it is taken to a location connected to the spirit realm where it then undergoes long enchantment rituals, soaking in pools of water in the spirit realm for around a month. During this time, the positive energy in the realm seeps into the diamond dust embedded in the steeland and imbues the steel with radiant energy.
Once enchanted, radiant steel can be forged into whatever shape is needed and grinded down to make sharp edges, though the smith must be alert for signs of impure radiant steel, as the forging process may reveal the hairline fractures and cause the steel to explode. However, if the steel is pure, forging it poses no more risks than regular steel.
