Wyrmbane Republic

The Wyrmbane Republic was a predominantly-human civilization established after the victory against the dragons, and retained most of its core territory for almost nine centuries, collapsing alongside all other nations as the World Died.

The Wyrmbane Republic was mainly governed by a legislature of elected representatives. Each settlement would sent a number of inhabitants to the Republican Congress in Wyrmbane to serve for a period of 6 years. Representatives could not be reelected. Major cities would get ten representatives, and smaller towns or villages would get between 1-5. At its peak, the Republican Congress had around 300 seats.

The Congress would elect ambassadors and diplomats from amongst themselves to communicate with other nations, though all major decisions were made by majority vote of the Congress. The Congress would also elect national and regional judges, generals, and other major bureaucrats, though these positions would typically all be filled by members outside the Congress.

The symbol of the Wyrmbane Republic was a red phoenix. Variations of the symbol exist in both a flying or rising state and in a rebirth state.
