Halfling History

The history of the Halfling race is uncertain. Some Elven records claim the Halfling race as descendants of their own people, but no one has claimed knowledge of exactly how they came to be there, and of how they became so diminutive in their stature. It is curious to how they often resemble elves in their features, and in their skills with song and storytelling. Halfling wizards are rare, but they show remarkable powers when they have access to teachings. Halfling bards are famed across the Breaks for their charisma and their knowledge of legend and story.
While there is similar appearance between halflings and elves, and there may indeed be a connection there of some kind, those who pay attention have noticed an even closer connection between halflings and goblins… A student of deep history will find that halflings and goblins often end up in the same area geographically, and they always end up opposed to each other (although goblins can also oppose gnomes by opportunity) in some way. Those that know other continents are even more convinced.
Indeed, the Halflings have a rich store of legend and mythology, of ancient heroes that vanquished trolls and bugbears in the days long past. The fertile grounds of Breaks culture help these tales to grow and spread and evolve. The Halflings strong friendship with humans has woven into these tales as well.
