Thitherland, Settlements
SETTLEMENTS of THITHERLAND
The Brruppit-Hugg (“ghost town” in Grippli)
There are some old ghost towns in the Thitherland Forests, human settlements from a hundred or more years ago, now grown over in moss and decay. They aren’t large, just a little main street and a few buildings, a few homes on the outskirts. The Grippli stay away from them, and they are a strange and haunting experience for any Tessinae passing through. Any bibbit would do well to raise their little home away from a brruppit-hugg.
(It is true that a number of residents in the Thitherland Hills are on the run from this or that. The forests here are a haven for criminals on the run from the empire.)
Historical Note
- 275-200 ya / 652-727 ce: Old Algor Towns in the Thitherland Hills: An Algor population, moving east from threats of the Catfolk, moves into the area of Thitherland, led by an independent group of Algor rangers. In the Hills they meet the (understandably skeptical) Grippli, and when the Algors set up small towns in the glades and valleys, things got tense. No one knows what happened to these “pioneers.” Perhaps the Grippli know. In any case, the towns are ruined now, and the human population in the Hills is a) very small, b) not at all dense, and c) on Grippli terms.
