Meorling

Meorlings are a humanoid, spore producing species. They come in three different types, characterized by the shape of their back fur, their tail type, and how many spores they have. The more spores they have, the more potent the effects of their spores are.   Standard Meorlings have 3-5 spore ribbons and an oval shape on their back. These Meorling are calm and peaceful in nature, and primarily utilize their spores to diffuse aggressive situations, calming their enemy and even putting them to sleep in some cases. These Meorling enjoy a calm, laid back lifestyle and tight-knit communities. They are incredibly social creatures, and have a set mating season in the winter. During this time, their spores will begin to emit an aphrodisiac to lure in potential mates, and they are known to breed with any species.   Lewd Meorlings have no limit to the number of spore ribbons they can grow, and their back fur is in the shape of a heart. Their spores are overactive, producing and emitting a constant aphrodisiac no matter what season it is. Because of this, they do not have a set mating season, and are known to breed often with any species they can lure in with their spores. Due to this, they often live alone, with a single mate, or even with a group of mates dedicated to caring for them.   Aggro Meorlings typically have 5-9 spores and a diamond or arrow shape on their back. They also are the only type with a tail-mouth companion. These are aggressive and (often) cannibalistic Meorlings, and their spores emit a paralytic agent to immobilize their prey. During mating season, they also emit an aphrodisiac, though they are known for consuming their mates after the deed is done. Aggros are shunned and feared by the communities, and are incredibly rare. Calming agents are not effective on them, however Lewd Meorlings have been known to lure them in as mates and escape unscathed.   Magical Ability   Meorlings' magical ability is prominently tied to their spore production, and they are not particularly adept with using magic beyond controlling what their spores can do.   Society   Meorling live in a series of villages throughout the islands they call home, primarily clustered together in tight knit communities deep in the dense, mossy forests. They are friendly with everyone they come upon and typically show no fear when it comes to meeting new and strange creatures that make it to their shores, confident in their ability to neutralize any situation with their calming spores (for the most part.)
