Midgard
Midgard is a vast subcontinent set in the northern part of the world. It is the home of the Midgardians, fierce and proud humans with a bellicose culture. In ancient days it was ruled by the now presumed extict snow elves, who were overtaken by the ancient tribes of Bear and Wolf. It borders Útgarðr to the north and Würm to the east.
The geography of the region is varied between fjords and mountains, low coastal plains, forested taiga, lakes, and the Aleutian archipelago. Its geologic activity includes geysers and volcanic eruptions. Most of the population is concentrated in the more temperate, southern regions, with the northern regions having long, cold winters.
Eyjafjallajökull Eyjafjallajökull is the name for both an Icelandic volcano and the ice cap plugging its caldera. Though the volcano has remained active for over a millennia, it was little known outside of Iceland until a minor eruption in 2010. Its subsequent ash cloud halted air traffic in Europe for nearly a week and spawned thousands of hours of breathless news reports. Eyjafjallajökull's eruptions have traditionally predicted even larger eruptions of the nearby Katla, a far more active subglacial volcano—much to the chagrin of European air traffic controllers. In Civilization VI: Gathering Storm, Eyjafjallajökull is considered a Volcano. On eruption, it gives medium yields and most likely damages buildings and districts. Eyjafjallajökull's eruptions are infrequent, but it is always active. Its tiles provide +1 Culture Culture, +1 Food Food, and +2 Appeal to adjacent tiles.
Many of the mountains have an alpine tundra climate. The northern reaches are cold and covered in snow. Many of the highest mountains.

Lysefjord Naval combat units that enter adjacent plots are granted their next promotion. Glacial erosion from the Ice Age carved the majestic Lysefjord out of what is now southern Norway. A marathon's length of cold, black water wends between towering cliffs of pale granite. The brighter coloration of these rocks is what gives the "light fjord" its name, despite their tendency to throw the water below into shadow. The striking Pulpit Rock (or "Preikestolen") is the large, flat top of a nearly 2000 ft cliff near the mouth of Lysefjord, perfect for shouting stentorian exhortations at boats passing below.Eyjafjallajökull Eyjafjallajökull is the name for both an Icelandic volcano and the ice cap plugging its caldera.
