Proclamation of Crusades

King of Rhidia, Felks Avston Nhak III

Whereas the Parliament of Rhidia, with the power vested in them by the Royal Authority, have declared that on this day of the fifteenth day of Harhery of 50 R.A., that a Crusade has been declared upon the fire-ice mages, the Niefl, of Llenaria. Now, therefore I, Felks Avston Nhak III, the King of Rhidia, do enjoin the Rhidian Military Forces to take on the challenge of hunting down and taking custody of every Niefl to be found. However, if met with resistance, use whatever means necessary to subdue the Niefl. I do exhort all of the good people of Rhidia, whether a colony or the country itself, as they value their livelihoods and their families, to surveil and deliver suspected Niefl.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and have burned a seal into this proclaimation.

Done at the city of Colicula, the fifteenth day of Harhery of 50 R.A.

It was after this proclamation that many, many Niefl went into hiding. Despite their best efforts to hide, about three-fourths of their overall population (roughly 4,000 at the time) all over the world of Llenaria had been either jailed or killed over the span of 175 years. The remaining thousand had escaped to other countries. Many had decided to settle in the land of Al-Zahl, in the Middle West, where they were treated with respect. Unfortunately, to this day not many Niefl live. It is rumored that their population dwindled to just a mere 100 people.

In the next few hundred years, the Niefl slowly faded from Rhidian memory and instead became considered simply a myth or a delusion of the former king. Only the royal family truly knows of their existence.
