Kingdom of the Suthral
The Suthral people seem to have lived in Llorin since the beginning of time - or at least, since the foundation of the Caladoran Empire. They are an alpine folk, dotting the western mountain chain of Ivaril with their irregular settlements. One of these, the famed City of Lamplight, is considered a wonder by those who travel there.
The Suthral are unique in many aspects, each stranger than the last. A dark-haired people, small and elegant, yet agile and strong. They are occupied by a variety of work, making excellent miners, herders, traders, and craftsmen. Men and women alike wear trousers, along with fur-lined coats and pointy caps. Their homes are built narrow and close together, the roofs are sloped and dangerously steep, and their roads are narrow, twisting, and carefully paved. Their myths, folklore, and traditions are different to their lowland neighbors, with no strong cultural connection to either the Andaric clans, or the imperial Caladorans. Their folk tales are particularly rich; filled with giants, dragons, dwarves, gnomes, trolls, skinchangers, and ghosts.
Despite their montane habitat, the Suthral are a wealthy folk. Trade is always flowing up and down the highlands, for the mountains are rich in gold, silver, and iron. The Suthral also create desirable products, in the form of fine wool, rich furs, intricate woodcarving, and elaborately woven textiles. Their carpets and wall-hangings, elevated to a high art, are particularly popular, as they are often decorated with vibrant colors and gold or silver thread.
Their neighbors have, of course, often tried to seize these resources for themselves. In its early days, even the Caladoran Empire has financed some campaigns in the highlands. However, the narrow passes, thick woods, and plunging valleys of the mountains have proved impregnable to common assault; and the otherwise friendly Suthral highly efficient in dealing with nuisances.

Suthrali Wool
A fabric that comes from the rare Suthral sheep, which are shorn only once per five years. Extremelly fine, warm, and light, the wool is considered a luxury worn only by the montane aristocracy. As a trade item, it is valuable beyond compare.
