Aswang
A group of Filipino mages who derive their magic from the cooking and consumption of human flesh. They are talented with the use of transformation magic, often mistaken for werewolves or other lycans by inexperienced hunters.
The name aswang is also applied to a category of paranormal creatures in Filipino myth, much as vampire is applied to a larger umbrella of creatures in European myth. See Aswang for more information.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals
The aswangs are supposedly very dangerous toward guests, allowing visitors to fall asleep before bashing them in the head and carrying them off to cook them in large cauldrons.1 Generally, respectful Western hunters have found them gracious hosts.

Common Myths and Legends
Some Filipino myths state that Aswangs are shapeshifters 2 and nocturnal hunters who prey on children and pregnant women in particular. While they do possess magical traditions which enhance their strength and speed, they cannot change shape and have no strange feeding apparatus.
