Duppy Bats

Spirits of those slain by accident, duppy bats appear as black butterflies which linger on the door frames of their previous homes. Generally harmless and considered a caution to the family who remain. Usually fade on their own within a week or can be immediately banished by someone in the home saying, “I’ll be careful.”
