The Siege of Cloudborne Keep

The Siege of Cloudborne Keep in part began with the destruction of Alshain and the subsequent exodus of its people to the Cloudborne Peaks. Many of these people followed the party northward into the domain of the aarakocra, and into Cloudborne Keep. Here they prepared diligently with the aid of the orc tribe of Azarog the Strong, fortifying the defenses of the keep whilst Rastos meditates on the power of his crystal key with the shaman of the Temple of Caelus and the leader of the aarakocra, Horus Shieldfeather. On the third night, the inevitable attack of the shadowed kobolds arrives in full, with their siege engines attempting to scale the mountain and attack the keep from below while a wyvern and an army of flying kobolds assail the keep from above. The party briefly works to dispatch a swath of the main forces before retreating to defend the temple from the wyvern and its dark rider. At the conclusion of this conflict, Rastos completes his bond with the crystal key by unknowingly activating its Lightning Ward ability and flying up to defeat the wyvern with wings of crackling lightning energy, saving the temple from destruction.
