Astradhari of the Moon - Lathwynn

The Serenity Of Kama | Warden Who Swims In Silver Light

[Backstory and mythology goes here]

Divine Domains

The Moon
The moon is a physical object that orbits Loke in the firmament supposedly made from one of the souls of Latvnh. It is a physical ward against chaos, it brings the tides, and it has symbolically been used to represent loyalty, reflection, or introspection by thousands of cultures.
Kama
One of the puruṣārthas (objects of human pursuit). Kama signifies desire, wishes, passion, emotions, affection, and love (with or without sexual connotations). It also means the pleasure of the senses and the aesthetic enjoyment of life, and so may refer to the arts: dance, music, painting, sculpture, and the enjoyment of nature.
War & Peace
Selandri is the prime goddess of just wars and rightfully won peace. Indeed, the word "selandri" is used in some languages as an contranym for war and peace. The moon was both an offensive and a defensive weapon, after-all. Selandri may cleave tumult one day and tranquillity the next, like ocean waves.
Māyā
The moon's presence subtly warps our perception of reality, and thus Selandri has dominion over illusions, mental alterations, dreams, distortions, and hypnotism or indoctrination (magical or otherwise). There is a natural ebb and flow to man's acuity, and on moonless nights our minds are most vulnerable. There are rare times when the moon is gone for long durations, which can lead to hysteria, so we pray to Seladri for peace of mind as well.
Survival
Selandri's pale light may guide us in more ways than one. She is the ultimate survival goddess; willing to take any action to keep living. Her authority here relates primarily to hunting and foraging, and building shelters or rafts, but also making improvisational tools and scavenging for useful items, especially in coastal and oceanic environments.

Bureau

Tangential Spheres & Overlap

Selandri's tenement over survival and illusions, combined with the moon-sickness experienced any time the moon is gone from the sky for long durations, has lead to an unfortunate association in some part of the world between extremist moon-worshipers and cannibalism. Especially among the people of the Central Empire, all "children of the moon" (placeholder name) are stereotyped as cannibals.   Being the goddess of Kama has also lead to some overlap with the different types of love (eros, philia, ludus, agape, pragma, philautia, psyche, mania, etc.) but each of those has their own more specialised diety, each of whom probably holds a high position in Selandri's bureau.

Holidays

Every night of the full Moon there are midnight festivals and revelries in most towns across the world. Shops, restaurants, and taverns stay open longer; until the early hours of the morning usually.
