The Bonner Boys take on The Red Dragon Sanguine to recover Cerulean's treasure

It’s a foggy day as the party flies over the Savannah toward Ardoth Nogaak. Indigo and Danger bury the hatchet over their conflict in the north. Neither one had the full story and they acted rashly. As they get close they can see Sanguine flying around his peak, so they swoop low and hide in the fog. Cerulean catches up with them and they make a plan. The party will find the treasure with Braes in his humanoid form who will distract the dragon while Cerulean uses her electricity to pick up all of the treasure.   They find a line of golems on the border of Kriegcastel, eyes lighting up in turn as a security sweep. The party finds the rhythm and runs through in time to be undetected. Only on the other side do they see a Gnome trying to run out in the other direction. They stop the Gnome, Lyr, who tells them he’s just escaped from a Dwarven prison to the south. He had to leave his brother behind but intends to come back to rescue him. The party agrees to help, but first, he has to help them. As they travel up the mountain it turns out Lyr has been in prison since the Hobgoblin War where his brother began developing automaton constructs for the Dwarves. He doesn’t know about the current state of affairs and is freaked out by nine-foot-tall Dragonborn.   The mountain shudders and the party manages to find a way inside while fighting Mephits of all kinds. Inside the mountain, they find an abandoned Dwarven city. It’s of an incredible design, and yet nobody else is there. What they do find is a dead dwarf with some kind of communications pack. As Lyr is the only one who knows Dwarvish, he speaks with the people on the other side, but quickly becomes scared and hangs up on them. That’s when a Fire Snake and Salamander attack. As they fight the Salamander and its burning weapon, not to mention a few Magma Mephits, Koster Mayhew appears and fires off some spells at the party. Then everyone remembers Braes is there and he quickly finishes off the Salamander. Koster escapes the area and they head up.   They find Cerulean’s treasure at the mountain’s peak. But they also find Sanguine and Koster Mayhew. Braes fights Sanguine, severely outmatched. The party can only hear his cries as their fight heads outside. Daryl calls in Cerulean, and she starts picking up all the treasure. Koster Mayhew attacks, bellowing about becoming the strongest being on the planet. Something about a Hammer of Thunderbolts. Daryl personally blasts him with a powerful enough spell that he must use Dimension Door to escape. The party rides away with Cerulean, Braes even managing to catch up as they watch Sanguine scorch the earth in the distance.   They fly all the way back to Rainfall where Cerulean finally fixes her roof. She turns around and tells Daryl she’s done traveling with them. Whatever their relationship was, she isn’t having it anymore. Daryl accepts this, but tells her in no uncertain terms that she still owes him one. She snorts at the thought but still nods. Lyr, shocked by all of this, agrees to keep on traveling with the party.   Their mail comes in, and the party learns that Queen Athena has been killed. A Black Dragonborn attacked Citadel Keep and led a prison break of the Dark Elves. It’s presumably Bastion, the Dark Elf commander who had escaped a few adventures earlier. Now a Steward to the Crown must be chosen from the remaining Prefects, one of whom is Aarden. The party writes a letter of recommendation for Abilene Broadbent, Prefect of the Savannah, in the hopes of keeping Aarden away from the throne. Daryl also sends a letter to his sister Demi to escape from Leonis, where he wants her to perform the Canticle of Quell. In other news the Last Outpost, a tower nearby Snow Hide’s clan in the Outlands, was taken by the Moonlit King. The party flies there to investigate.
