Physical
A man in his early 60s, Adwyn was not in great shape when the party first met him. Now that the drama with his son and his temple have been alleviated, he's regained some of his previous vigor, and can call forth a commanding presence when needed. He dresses simply and speaks plainly, despite his station as Head Cleric.
Personality
During their initial visit to
Duskhollow, Adwyn was a distressed and disheveled husk of a man. Between threats to his authority, his temple, and his family, he turned to desperate and deplorable action in the hopes of regaining even a little control of his situation. When confronted, it was obvious that this ordeal had been eating away at him the entire time, and all he really wanted safety for his son.
Now that peace has been restored to Duskhollow, he is eternally thankful for the party's help. He's regained much of the care and compassion he used to show towards his village, leading them confidently under
Waukeen's guidance and vowing never to let himself fall prey to such cruelty ever again.
History
Adwyn is the Head Cleric at the Temple of
Waukeen in Duskhollow. When
Louissa Prenav established herself as the new Magistrate and started pushing her own agenda on the town, Adwyn found his leadership being overruled by her legistlative backing, and soon his temple was sucked into a massive renovation project funded by Louissa - who expected her loan to be repayed in full, with exuberant interest.
As he fell deeper and deeper into financial trouble, his life was further complicated when his son
Destin, contracted lycanthropy from a barely-survived encounter with a werewolf. Adwyn tried to keep this a secret, but between Louissa's snooping minions and his son's rapidly worsening condition, he found himself running out of options. Out of desperation, he struck a deal with some of Louissa's rangers to retrieve a local legend--a Cervidae in the nearby woods that could supposedly cure any illness.
When the Cervidae (named
Vin'trys) was brought to him, he took advantage of the ongoing construction in his temple and hid her behind a false wall. When she would not cure his son willingly, he began experimenting with her blood, hoping her fae properties would be of some help. All experiements failed, and he was now harboring a dark secret in his walls that would ruin him if ever exposed.
Thankfully, the entire mess was untangled by Tek and his friends. They were able to free Vin'trys, confront Adwyn as he tried to flee the town with his son, and learned the truth of everything that had happened to the beleagered Cleric. Taking pity on him, they encouraged the ousting of Louissa from her place of power, and took Destin to the
Circle of Vin'trys for help. Adwyn was able to step up as a leader in the town once again, forever grateful to the strangers who turned his impossible situation into a happy ending.
