Hareed

Hareed is a weary, helpful, excruciatingly kind bugbear that has served the Thriyan family for decades, namely as the personal attandant of Tekhetsio Thriyan. (Hareed has always been uncomfortable with the title, but he is technically a Lord Attendant.)
Hareed's family considered his soft nature a disability that decreased his chances of survival to zero if he was allowed to stay with his home clan. They had no idea why he'd turned out the way he did, but they had enough empathy for the poor creature to send him into the city to find a place in society. Working as a servant for a powerful family, they hoped, would both give their boy a place to call home as well as allow him to be cared for and monitored in return. They had no idea how a gentle bugbear could possibly survive, so hoped that the Thriyan family could take care of their handicapped relative.
Tekhetsio put Hareed through his paces when he was young, and so his parents hoped that the bugbear could find some rest now that their son was becoming an adult. However, Tekhetsio only came up with new, more potent problems for Hareed to figure out how to deal with, along with the added stress of being away from home for long stretches of time. Whenever Tekhetsio leaves, Hareed keeps busy and pretends not to fret, but as soon as the boy returns, Hareed smothers him with doting attention every time.
