Death Metal

In his infinite malice, Xaph wrought forth from the depths of the lands a metal hostile to all life. And he named it Death, the destroyer of all life.
— Sermons of Metal, record 1, side B, track 614

Wrought from rocks and stones found in the depths of a Pit of Mosh by the foul rites devised by Xaph the Evil, Death metal is a dark purple, nearly black metal with an oily sheen that is uniquely hostile to life. To touch it with bare skin is to invite agony, and to be pierced by it is fatal or worse.

Material of Doom

Xaph the Evil's Dread Legions of Doom makes extensive use of Death metal, using it to forge their black blades of Evil and their fists of Despair. The most diabolical use of Death metal is drawing it into guitar strings, the riffs played on Death metal strings have a strange, dark power to them and no guitar has a more distorted evil sound than Xaph's sevan-and-a-half stringed Guitar of Unreality.   The dark rites used to draw the Death metal from the earth are among the most evil imaginable, requiring a constant state of advanced, malignant undeath. Naturally, this means that only the dread minions of Xaph the Evil are capable of performing the rites. Likewise, the rites performed using Death metal are equally evil. These foul rites are used to corrupt the souls of the innocent, to turn pure life into dark unlife, and are the primary way for Xaph's Dread Legions of Doom to... "recruit" new members into their ranks.
