Mejorav Project
The Mejorav Project was one of the most immoral experiments, according to the humans, undertaken by the elves with the surviving orphans of the Human Insurrection. The Elven Empire decided to keep the children for three reasons: to show compassion and calm the humans, to have hostages in case the rebellious region irrationally attempted to foment another insurrection, and finally, to have humans to experiment on and gather information about this curious race.
Majorav means "half-breed" in Matra, the language of the elves. Indeed, the elves wanted to see if both species could procreate with each other. Each orphan in this project was assigned an elven partner; although elves are polygamous, they knew that humans had mostly abandoned this trait and opted for monogamy based on a certain morality that they could not understand.
The objectives behind this project were threefold: the most obvious has already been mentioned, to check reproductive compatibility. The second was to know what kind of qualities the majoravs born from the experiments would have, and to see if there would be any complications in pregnancies. And third, and what has now been acknowledged as the main reason, to see if, should everything go well and elves could be born from the union with humans, those elves could feel love. This way, they could understand their deity Simha, the goddess of love, better and the true value behind their existence.
