Dragon Storm Plateau

No matter the season a storm can be found stop the Dragon Storm Plateau. Adventurers and explorers who dare to enter the region will find that this is no natural weather event. From one moment to the next the maelstrom flagellates between soaking downpours, scouring wind and sand, freezing blizzards, waves of fire and suffocating heat, and more bizzare effects not seen elsewhere on the face of Lorgaire.   For centuries, mystics have claimed visions of stout buildings traced with adamantine standing in the eye of the storm, and a voice calling for help. Scholars have deduced these would be the remains of the lost citadel of the ogres that once stood on the plateau. These tales lure the brave and foolhardy alike, seeking to capture one legendary artifact or another supposedly trapped in the eye of the storm. Those so summoned by gods of fate such as Marceila, Duszakas, or Ame'Fi'Leare who do not turn back have surely perished in that chaotic frenzy.   Cheif among these legends, is the tale of the human slave Alexios who angered his ogre spellweaver master. The cruel and powerful archmage Parehk, who in a fit of rage cursed Alexios, worded his declaration foolishly, locking them both in that moment in time, and destroying the city around them by creating the Dragon Storm. The leading draw for the adventurous is a belief that anyone able to enter the city and take the scepter from Parehks hand will free Alexios, and allow them to gather the riches of the city that remain after everyone there was killed by the curse.   Many people are convinced, no matter which version of the legend they believe, that there must be riches in the city trapped in the storm, because the plateau also draws in young dragons, lending the plateau and the storm their names.   Rising over King's Bay and the Boranes Divide Ocean, the Dragon Storm Plateau is located at the junction between the Eirghar continent in the west and the Rynabor continent in the east. A variety of unusual and useful magical minerals, plants and animals can be found in the valleys surrounding it and on its slopes.   -   Originally written to answer 2024 Summer Camp challenge Location A TUMULTUOUS REGION PRONE TO NATURAL DISASTERS
