Repertory and Theater of Mercy

A common feature of many temples is a circular chamber or gathering space for the dispensation of healing magic known as the Theater of Mercy. Structured much like a site of entertainment or education, with a platform for the speaker and ample benches or seating for those receiving their words they allow for many to receive magical aid at once. In densely populated areas or specialised sites receiving great numbers of supplicants the Theater of Mercy may be nearly spherical in shape with layers of cots or a mezzanine of seating surrounding a narrow pedastle or platform from which the weaver disperses their power.   Repertory of Mercy is the name of the group of clerics, priests, and volunteers who carry out the organization and maintenance of gatherings within the theater. In large or specialized temples this may be followers of a single sect, but most repertories require the aid of all available clergy in a pantheonic temple. Priests or clerics dedicated to most members of the Celestia or Sovereign Host grant healing to any worshipers who come to the temple, except those bearing sigils of the Umbrane or Nightwalkers.   In times of supernatural plague, and on special holy days to Cheteni the Reclaimer or to Kam the Comb of Souls, the Theater of Mercy may also be used to grant a merciful death to those suffering from persistent or uncurable ailments. These events are both somber and comforting, bringing the repertory and families of those departing together to sing a hymn to the goddess, calling her to collect the souls about to be released so she may begin their path back to her mistress to be respun.     -   Originally written for 2024 Summer Camp challenge Wild Card option answering Organization A CHARITY OR OTHER ORGANIZATION FOCUSED AROUND DOING GOOD
