Steward's Judgement
Granted after the summer campaign had begun, while King Mavros was in the field, this judgement by his steward and cousin the Count of Kedropras grants Halumai the Baron of Petraule permission to collect a debt from his delinquent neighbor Lamprok the Baron of Tria Potamos as he sees fit. While the failure to repay such a debt is dishonorable, and the name of Lamprok has been diminished of late under a number of accusations, it is still quite a generous judgement allowing Halumai to pillage or conquer Tria Potamos to collect without the court having a heard a rebuttal or offer from the debtor.
Supporting statements from several merchants and local trade guild halls were presented claiming debts owed to them as well by Lamprok, and Halumai's collection is to see recompense made to them too. Witnesses to the refusal to pay stated that Lamprok claimed he lacked the assets, but still managed to raise his armsmen and join the summer campaign against the petty king of Bianchi. The court's decision stated it would not intervene to press Halumai's claims as no debt was owed to the crown, but would not prevent him from using methods he deemed necessary to seize assets.
Halumai is one of the new lines of nobles raised up during the asscencion of the Mavros to the throne. Their holdings in Petraule are modest, but they have been ardent supporters of the Mavros. Lamprok is an old line with storied history in the Duchy and Kingdom of Agryos, producing many knights and champions of the Celestia. Lamprok's favor with the ecclesiastic powers of the region likely contributed to their retention of titles and holdings when the Mavros overthrew the Orcheohyle dynasty from the throne of Agryos, and divided up their lands amongst the victor's supporters.
