Darngarum

The Jewel of the Mountain, Darngarum, was built on the remnants of the make-shift city which housed the Trial Champions and their families. The new Dwarven race saw this location as an opportunity to create something beautiful, a beacon to their God who brought them into this world. Deep in the mountain, a vast cavern was discovered and decreed their holy city, a testament to Dwarvenkind and all that could be achieved. Here, under the glow of Titherimoose, the city was formed.   Darngarum is a city reserved for Dwarves with great care to allow others to witness but not remain within. The city only provides one external service, the most protected bank in Gia, the Bank of Dargarum,. However, only the most privileged have ever walked its vault room. Otherwise, the city is self-sustaining, able to maintain a life of 100,000 no matter the events on the surface. This attitude is present in the citizens within. Darngarum is a city of tradition and reverence and one of the few dedicated to worshiping one God.   Significant Locations The Molten Gateway. The tunnel entrance to the molten rivers of gold and silver, the entry pit is heavily regulated and incredibly dangerous. Folklore regales that 1% of every coin contains the remains of a Dwarf who met their fate in its creation.   Vaults of Darngarum. Gia’s most secure location, the vaults, have never been penetrated, which are believed to be held deep beneath the city. Those possessing the rarest items or largest sources of wealth hold an account here. A uniquely minted platinum key and passcode are required for entry.   City Dynamics Wealth. For its citizens, the coin has lost meaning, with hard currency rarely exchanged. However, for those lucky visitors, one can easily make a year’s wage by running simple errands or performing in a local tavern.   The Plateau. A physical reminder of status, only the chosen can set foot on the sacred plateau. Those touched by Titherimoose are always welcomed. At the same time, an invitation from the Dwarven Lords is considered Darngarum’s highest honor.
