Oar’s Rest

Founded: 1,201 MION Population: 50,000 Purpose: Memorial Constructed out of the bones of the titan Nuren, this city serves as a reminder of the devastation and the losses inflicted at the will of the mighty sea serpent. Oar’s Rest is one of the newer cities of Zeto, the inlet on which it resides carved by the creature’s destructive past. The skull, which rests on the inlet’s floor, jaw agape, inspired the memorial. This port entry instills fear in the young and reminds the populace of the incredible power of the Titans.   Today, Oar’s Rest is the port city of the Eastern Realm, their connection to the outside world. Though initially constructed as a memorial, time has turned the city into more of a novelty, drawing visitors to view the city of bones. Tourists will find bone trinkets, rib cage tours, and haunting night-time rides through the massive jawbone, which acts as the port gate.   City Dynamic Ignored Remembrance. Numerous shrines and memorials lay dormant and forgotten beneath expanding domiciles and commercialism, with families more likely to find their loved one’s grave marker being used as the side of a market shop. This disrespect has caught the attention of the Order of the Devout and local caretakers, who constantly struggle to balance economic growth and reverence.   Significant Location Nuren Memorial Harbor. A sight to behold, the gargantuan skull of Nuren, mouth open in a fearsome howl, is the only entrance into the port of Oar’s Rest, a credit to all those who were able to defeat it so many years ago. Children and those prone to fright tend to hide below deck when approaching the harbor by sea. It is rumored that the jaws can close to create a protective barrier against an attack from the ocean.
