Whitehall Abby

Founded: 770 MION Settlement Type: Monastery Purpose: Protection from the Emergence Current Ruler: Grandmaster Tao Whitehall Abby was founded as a garrison at the world’s edge to defend against creatures that emerged from the nearby body of water during the Age of Titans. Its original founder Thetrial Whitehall dubbed the warriors the Order of the Peacekeepers and extended their services to all of Veritas, serving a crucial role during the Great Freeze as adjudicators of disagreements.
As the sands again swallowed Veritas, the order’s services began to dwindle, the harsh climate dissuading new recruits and hindering the order’s ability to aid in day-to-day life. Instead, the focus remained on their primary function, the overwatch of the Emergence and maintaining the Great Seal contained within.
However, as the threat of war with Doloran surfaced, the order took up arms again, the Grandmaster taking the role of Admiral; the order sailed to their death, aware of the sacrifice required to stop the Yentarian. It was the golden dragon that saved them all, and in his honor, the Order of the Dragon was born.
Using the momentum of the arrival of Kiljar, the order has expanded to a modest number, taking frequent pilgrimages to share their way and the blessings of Kiljar that allow radiant healing energy to be used for good. The monks are now a welcome sight across the continent as people look for wisdom, healing, or a cask of Golden Dragon Ale the now stable brew of the populace.
Significant Locations The Emergence. A source of raw arcana, the emergence lays on a seam of creation and a breach between this world and many others. Four hundred feet down, a cavern holds the portal, and four hundred feet down is where the first Grandmaster expended his life force to create The GreatSeal. It is the order’s primary duty to train their bodies to endure the depths and channel their Ki into the seal to maintain the barrier.
