Founded: 340 REM Population: 12,600 Purpose: Port The only viable means of transport between the Western and Northern Empire, Whiterun hosts an enchanted ferry capable of moving an entire garrison across the churning waters of the Whiterun Stait. Home of Gia’s largest functioning port, Waverunner Port, the city has a steady flow of resources that can more easily move to desired destinations than Carron.
While predominantly Dragonborn, two small sections of the city are dedicated to the inhabitants of Nearon, featuring an Elven and a Roamer (Beastial) Court. These areas act as liaisons for trading agreements, primarily focusing on maintaining the flow of Mythhathaes’ magical trinkets.
City Dynamics Weary Eye on Diversity. The growing presence of diverse cultures has become a concern for the Empire with effort made to contain the spread of foreign ideals. This weariness stems from the Dragonborn Divergence when competing ideals lead to civil war.
Significant Locations Anon’s Ferry. The enchanted ferry has remained free despite Duthdar efforts to impose fees. The ferry takes a carefully navigated path during its two-day journey across the Whiterun Strait. Attempts to find additional crossings have been fruitless, the border between the islands infested with undead or corrupted lands.
