Mask of a New Face
As you sit in the bustling tavern, you peek around your shoulder to see a dark stranger sitting in the corner of the room. He sits at a small table in the corner, with two partners huddled around him. You watch as his short, black hair falls around his pale face. His two partners wearing deep purple cloaks reach over to his face, temporarily blocking your view as you look on in intrigue. When the two people step back, you see a completely different person in the man's place. In his place is a man with darker skin, long brown hair, and a completely different face. He breathes a sigh of relief and and combs through his long hair with his fingers. You hear him shout out to the bartender, asking for a beer. You turn back around, resting your head on your hand, looking into your drink. "What's in this thing?!" you murmur to yourself.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
A person creates them by molding the mask to a persons face, and a combination of expensive ingredients, such as white martz berries, merfolk scales, sandfox fur, dragon or dragonling scales, and a piece of hair, fur, or scales from the person it is copying, and several others. allow it to become that persons face. When it is removed from the creators face, it becomes a standard white mask with red markings.
Significance
It is a seemingly normal masquerade mask until it is put on. Then, it molds to your face and shifts it into the face of the creator of the mask. This is often used as a disguise, different identity, and even costumes. When sold the masks, it is usually not told who or even what the mask will shift you into, so you will often become a completely different person upon wearing it. Some who are willing to pay a significantly higher fee may be able to find a merchant who will give them the face they want rather than a random one.
Rarity
Very rare, only found in Dreanesia, usually by people who cannot or will not sell it.
