Meteor Officers

You bolt through the branches. You feel leaves whip your face as you tuck yourself down to avoid branches. You tuck your whole body down, pulling yourself into a crouching run. You squint, and can just see the tail of the monkey dashing away from you. You grit your teeth and put out a burst of speed, leaping ahead. You grip the tailcoat of the foot tall monkey and tuck onto a roll. Your tail just manages to grip the branch above you. You pull yourself back to balance with a yank. The small monkey you are holding on to with all your might flails hard, trying to get away, but you won't let him. You grip each of his balled up paws, knocking a small dagger out of one. He begins to soften, letting himself go completely limp, but you were ready for that.  A loud voice rings out, "Pass!" You release your instructor, and he shakes himself off. He turns toward you, and you shake hands. You are now now longer a trainee, you are an officer.

Structure

This organization is designed for law enforcement. At the bottom are trainees, people who have just entered training. They stay in this level for at least a year, or until they are deemed successful enough to become an officer. This can take anywhere from one to two years. They are rather intensely trained, and are made to be strong, agile, and extremely good at what they do. After they succeed their testing, they get ranked up to officer. At this level, they do most of the actual law enforcement. This is also the biggest group. To get higher than this, one must excel. Up above that is trainer. They are responsible for teaching all the trainees, and making sure they are competent before sending them out. At the top are masters. They are not usually out there fighting and stopping crime. They are typically in charge of testing and hiring more officers. It is very hard to get to this level, and you have to be very, very successful in other branches.

Culture

They believe in order, justice, and peace. They typically prefer to be sturdy, quiet, and strong. They are usually lawful in alignment and typically have a lot of trouble dealing with change. They are responsible for dealing with crime. Their job includes hopping through branches at high speed miles in the air to capture runaways, tackling people bigger than them to bring them down, and undergoing many other struggles. They are responsible for bringing down criminals. They also must be incredibly careful to not take down the wrong people, as the typical punishment for crime is being temporarily or even permanently banished.

Public Agenda

They are present in the Meteor Tree to maintain peace, enforce the rules, and keep order. They also are intent on keeping a good public image, to the point that there are often flyers advertising their work. The vast majority are kind and most are lawful good, but there are some who join for a malicious purpose. For example, since the punishment for most crimes is banishment, they sometimes join to finish a grudge. However, most of them are very good people.

Assets

They have quite a lot of wealth. Each officer is payed 5gp per day of work, they have a headquarters near the top of the tree, as well as multiple smaller buildings in various locations. They have a total wealth of 7,500gp, many weapons, and gear for all officers.
