Power Crystals

You hold up your wand, waving it in the air. It is a willow branch, around a foot long. On the tip of wand, wrapped with small willow twigs, is a two inch hunk of a power crystal. It is deep magenta in color and has sparks of light flowing through it, and a light seems to radiate from deep within it, deeper than it even is. You extract one of the sparks with your arcane words, morphing it into three orbs of light. You push the orbs together, muttering the arcane all the while, into the shape of a very small humanoid creature of light. It walks ahead of you through the deep forests you travel through, shedding all the light you need to see.

Material Characteristics

It is a colorful crystal that radiated tangible magical energy and faintly glows from the inside. The glow does not seem to come from any specific location, and cutting apart the crystal never reveals a source. It is dotted with little specks of light that seem to flow through the crystal like fireflies despite it being completely solid. These are very evenly spaced throughout the crystal, only around an inch apart, and they swirl around beautifully.

Physical & Chemical Properties

This is usually slightly cold to the touch, but it's main property is its magic. It has the ability to allow the user to cast dancing lights once for each light within the crystal, which recharge after being held under the light of at least one full moon. It also works as an arcane focus, and is a popular object to use on the tip of a wand. It's most powerful feature is it's use as a power source. It seemingly increases the power of anyone who touches, making the holder feel incredibly powerful. It increases the power of a spellcaster, any spell casted is casted one level up without expending the higher slot. There are towns built around these crystals to give everyone in a town these effects.

Geology & Geography

These crystals are found sprouting in the continent of Andria. They grow from the ground like plants, and stretch 10-15ft underground. They usually grow at a rate of around 1ft per month, and are harvested for their use as a power source.

Origin & Source

These grow from the ground, and small crystals are usually chipped off of the larger ones. The small flickering lights within it are 'seeds' and will grow if stuck into the ground without the rest of the crystal.
