Soul Charm

You slowly open your eyes, pulling yourself up out of the sand. Your huge, fluffy ears twitch on their own accord, particles flying everywhere as you stretch. You pull your soft, pale golden arms above your head. Your soul charm thuds quietly against the soft cloth of your clothing. You skitter out of your den, ready to dash off to your next job. You hop out into the scorching sun, slipping into a quadrupedal stance to move quicker. You slip your small golden hands into the burning sun, gritting your teeth against the heat until you adjust. You feel a slight weight on your neck as your necklace dangles. You wing away into the desert.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This is a simple charm, made of bronze or other similar metals such as gold and copper. It is usually threaded through with simple twine, tied behind the neck. It is sometimes higher quality, some much lower, but they always share the same image of a moon inscribed in a sun.

Significance

This symbol of a sun with a moon engraved into it is the symbol of the secret adventurers guild of souls. It is worn as a necklace. To most, it is taken as a beautiful piece of jewelry. However, to a guild member it is a symbol of safety and companionship. The sun refers to safety, and the moon refers to adventure.

Raw materials & Components

This is a simple metal charm, usually made either by melting down bronze and pouring it into a mold, or carving it down into the appropriate shape. If it is carved, a small hole will need to be punched into the top. It is then threaded onto a long piece of twine or string, and tied in the back. Some very high quality ones have a clasp in the back.
